These players will now represent the well-known alliance of Holland’s 40 most professional poker players, successful businessmen and famous sports personalities.

After months of preparation and freeroll tournaments these three players came out strong in the field of almost 600 avid players, outclassing their opponents and claiming the Lords of Poker titles. LOP is considered to be the most honorable and highly recognized poker title in Holland.

Three players from TitanPoker.com have started their way to poker fame and glory by being selected as Lords of Poker, the most honorable and highly recognized poker title in Holland.

Elly Steijn, Paul Wijnveld, and Rik Broekhuizen, emerged from obscurity and will represent the well-known alliance of Holland’s 40 most professional poker players, successful businessmen and famous sports personalities. These players will play at the first special televised poker event of its kind in the Netherlands and on Dutch TV.

Only the most talented poker players can take part in these exclusive encounters between the Lords of Poker, and these three Titan Poker players are now part of this amazing opportunity. Eventually the best Dutch poker players will be chosen out of thousands of players, to become year-long members of the alliance.

“It feels great to be a Lord of Poker and to get the chance to play with all the professional Dutch players and celebrities,” said Elly Steijn, who proved that being a woman was no obstacle to being crowned as a Lord of Poker. “It’s a great opportunity to improve my poker game amongst Holland’s best players,” she said.

Elly Steijn was recognized at the Amsterdam event for her poker skills and appearance at the table and received a wild card from the “Lords” but didn’t end up needing it. Instead she succeeded in winning her table with precise game play at the right moments and by putting pressure on the other players.

Elly qualified for the live event by finishing in the top 8 in a Titan Poker free roll tournament, staged online at the popular poker room.

Paul Wijnveld, a busy businessman involved in corporate fashion, celebrated his victory in becoming a lord of poker with a few good friends “One of my friends told me to play in the Lords of Poker tournament and on the first night of the qualifying I became one of the qualifiers for the main event in Amsterdam.”

The Lords of Poker qualifying tournament was staged in Amsterdam on February 6th after months of preparation and freeroll tournaments. Inside the hall was a strong representation of the Dutch poker community, with attention drawn towards players that are also famous TV personalities. There were 16 poker tables with a huge diversity of players. Men, women, young, old, dressed up, or rather modest. For all of them it came down to one thing: reaching the final.

The three Titan Poker players finished strong in the field of almost 600 avid players, outclassing their opponents and claiming the Lords of Poker titles.

About Lords of Poker

The LOP’s first official event is currently being filmed in the Netherlands. The LOP’s will be participating in the eight tournaments with live coverage of all tables. The last person to remain at the table at the end of the series will be the undisputed “LOP Champion”. The winner will get to visit all major poker events for free this year and will also get to represent this team at all EPT, WPT and WSOP events.

Thirty permanent members can obtain membership for this association, based on their character and poker skills. The remaining 10 places are open to the best players of Holland selected by LOPs jury. These players can qualify through a series of online tournaments, taking place on different poker platforms. These members can take their seats at the poker tables in the Lords of Poker mansion to challenge the best players of Holland.
